Exploring Galápagos with Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic is unlike traveling with any other company. And in addition to the ten reasons listed below, they offer an exclusive service that greatly enhances your experience of Galápagos: Expedition Photography.
Galápagos offers peerless opportunities to get up close to remarkable animals that have no fear of humans. And Lindblad’s Expedition Photography program helps you make the most of each breath-taking, heart-stopping moment of beauty and wildness. Their Expedition Photography service is available to photographers of all ages, and of all skill and interest levels. And it’s included in the expedition cost—all you have to do is pack your camera.
Experience matters: Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic has more experience than any other operator in Galápagos and more experience in the expedition travel business. In 1967, Lars Eric Lindblad led the first non-scientific expedition to the Galápagos. We’ve been traveling there in one form or another ever since.
The most knowledgeable and experienced naturalists: A core group of naturalists works exclusively for Lindblad-National Geographic. And our high naturalist-to-guest ratio offers you more diversity of personalities and expertise.
Conservation commitment: Since 1997, Lindblad-National Geographic, together with our guests, has raised more than $5.5 million in conservation funds for projects including: the restoration of native plants throughout the islands and tracking giant tortoises. We work closely with the Galápagos National Park and/or the Charles Darwin Research Station on all conservation initiatives.
More flexibility, choices and activities: Part of our very DNA,and the ethos we brought to Galápagos when we began expeditions here. Guests are never “herded.” They are treated as individuals, and offered options at every opportunity.
We own and operate our 2 ships: We are the only U.S. company who owns and operates two ships in Galápagos, National Geographic Islander and National Geographic Endeavour, giving us oversight and control that many others just don’t have.
Year-round departures: Our ships operate year-round, offering full-week itineraries, with National Geographic Endeavour departing every Friday, and National Geographic Islander departing every Saturday.
Technology adds to the guest experience: No other company can match our tools for exploration, with video microscopes, plasma screens, Undersea Specialists, hydrophones, Video Chroniclers, ROV (National Geographic Endeavour only), splash cams and daily expedition reports; all of these tools greatly enrich the experience of exploring Galápagos.
Complete snorkeling gear aboard both ships: Complimentary wetsuits as well as masks, fins and snorkels are stocked in a wide range of sizes for adults and kids—yours for the duration. Or if you prefer to stay dry, enjoy our glass-bottom boat (NG Endeavour only).
Ideal for groups & families: We’re committed to enhancing the opportunities to share adventures, make memories and enhance bonds for nuclear and multi-generational families and groups in Galápagos. Specially trained staff members are skilled at organizing activities for and inspiring curiosity in young people of all ages.
Excellent expeditions—with comfort and pampering: We offer a wellness program featuring nature-inspired spa treatments (and a floating massage platform on National Geographic Endeavour), and daily stretching under the guidance of an instructor. Our expeditions also feature well-equipped air-conditioned gyms, exquisite cuisine, guest internet service, and seamless handling throughout your journey.
